CHESSBD walkthru - ICS main board
The ICS main board is the board where you play games.
(If you observe games, they go on other pop-up boards.)
The board window has a menu bar with many useful features.
I won't try to cover them all. But, here are some of them.
-
Board sub-menu.
-
Select Board|Reverse to flip the board.
-
Select Board|Bugboard to enable or disable the special
bughouse board layout.
-
Select Board|Viewer to bring up the game navigation dialog.
(This lets you scroll forward and backward thru your game.)
-
Select Board|VarBoard to pop up a scratch board with a duplicate
of the current position.
-
Opt.
This is like the regular Options sub-menu in the main viewer mode window,
except that this also lets you customize the ICS mode user-definable
buttons.
For example, select Opt|who buttons, to modify the definitions of
the buttons that appear when you click on the ICS arena's who listbox.
-
User.
This sub-menu has miscellaneous commonly used actions.
You can program this sub-menu by selecting Opt|user buttons.
I provided a few default items for you, for example,
-
User|thanks is equivalent to typing "say thanks" in the ICS telnet textport.
-
User|draw is equivalent to typing "draw" in the ICS telnet textport.
-
User|gamedlg pops up the CHESSBD game history dialog.
-
Wnd.
-
Use the Wnd sub-menu to switch between multiple ICS sessions.
(You can have several going at once.)
-
Select Wnd|SaveLayout to save the current layout.
-
Select Wnd|RestoreLayout to restore from a saved layout.
